Tool to create a new pipeline for a specific branch or tag in a GitLab project. Use when you need to manually trigger a CI/CD pipeline run, optionally passing variables or inputs. For merge request pipelines, use the dedicated merge requests endpoint instead.

inputsobjectA hash of key-value pairs for CI/CD inputs when creating the pipeline. Available in GitLab 18.1 and later.
variablesarrayAn array of pipeline variables. Each variable must have a 'key' and 'value'. Optionally specify 'variable_type' as 'env_var' (default) or 'file'.
