The scope of the metadata template. Use 'global' for Box-provided templates available to all enterprises, or 'enterprise' for templates created within your enterprise. The 'enterprise' value will be automatically converted to the format 'enterprise_{enterprise_id}' if needed.

The unique identifier that represents a file. The ID for any file can be determined by visiting a file in the web application and copying the ID from the URL. For example, for the URL `https://*.app.box.com/files/123` the `file_id` is `123`.

operationsarray

A JSON-Patch array of operations to apply to the metadata instance. The update is atomic - if any operation fails, no changes are applied. Operations are executed in the order provided.

template_keystring

The name (key) of the metadata template. For example, 'properties' for the standard Box properties template, or a custom template key for enterprise templates.
